Let’s Get Out Adventure Camp

Adventure Camp is a full-day outdoor program for children ages 8–14. Throughout the week, campers expand their skills in a variety of adventure sports while developing a deeper appreciation for the unique landscape of the Columbia River Gorge.

Each day, participants take part in a different adventure as they explore the Gorge. Guided instruction is provided for every activity, including proper equipment use, safety practices, leadership skills, and thoughtful risk assessment.

Along the way, we support campers in resolving conflicts with kindness, challenging themselves physically and mentally, encouraging one another, and building the confidence and teamwork skills needed to thrive as a group.

Adventure Camp

What does it take to lead? This summer we are honing in on the skills that help our campers become leaders in their community. In addition to the adventure sports we focus on, we will teach, encourage, and support our campers as they learn and practice leadership skills they can take into other parts of their lives.

We utilize adventure sports to catalyze personal growth and social and emotional learning. Each day, we travel to a new spot in the Gorge, where we experience rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, exploring swimming holes, shelter building, orienteering, wilderness awareness skills and games, team building, and service project activities. Leave No Trace Ethics are taught throughout the week.

The week also includes a stewardship project with a local agency or non-profit. Stewardship projects help campers understand the larger picture of land management, volunteerism, natural resources, and giving back.

Activities may vary due to weather conditions and staffing. Most equipment and transportation are provided. Children need to bring their bikes and helmets on mountain bike day. If a child doesn’t have a bike, please contact one of our local bike shops for a rental.

Our camper-to-guide ratio is 6:1 for these camps. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Pick up and drop off is at Jackson Park in Hood River.
